Mount Elbrus with its two summits

Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain in the Caucasus Mountains. It is located in Russia, near the border of Georgia.

The mountain is an old volcano covered by glaciers, and it has two remarkable summits. The west summit stands at 5,642 m (18,510 ft), the east one stands at 5,621 m (18,442 ft). The gap between the two summits is commonly considered to be the border between Asia and Europe.
